Gainesville coin Co.
This company happens to I have a wide variety of precious metal bullion bars and coins. However, when I placed my order, the item was not shipped until several days later causing a delay in the normal realm of delivery time. So, I decided to call the company and talk to a man that, through his voice, I could tell had a rather short fuse. More than likely because he has probably had to answer these questions many times prior to my call. I asked him why my package had not been delivered yet and, he informed me that I had not received it because it had not yet shipped and, that the time delay was due to their shipping process. When I received my items, I did not receive the quality of item that was pictured on the website. The picture shows a Flawless example of the item. I ended up receiving my items with fingerprints all over them. I give them three of five stars. They had lost a star with me due to the rather uncomfortable feeling I received from the man on the phone and the other Star as a result of fingerprints on my items.
Clearance Promotion -No Product to Ship
Ordered a featured clearance sale gold piece. Two weeks AFTER RECEIVING MY CHECK they called to say they didn't have the piece to ship. It took them three weeks to discover they couldn't fill an order [which they accepted] for a product they featured as clearance sale item. Another week to receive refund check. For ONE MONTH during gold & silver spot price dip Gainesville had my money tied up and unavailable for me to use advantageously. Their only three word apology came from a shipping clerk. Policy protects THEM from customers "playing remittance games" while markets fluctuate but it seems OK for them to do so. Their 5% protection deposit is a one way street and their "clearance" is meaningless, apparently. No more waiting for their 4 weeks deliveries for me.
I've made 3-4 orders with them. Shipping is slow"er" than most other companies yes but that is due to them being quite diligent in theft prevention - loss control. So what, I applaud them for calling me back 3-4 days later and reviewing my credit card with them. They have to combat fraud on a daily basis.
I'm not an "employee" or a distributor giving a padded review, I LOVE this place and how they conduct themselves.
Better places to buy than Gainesville Coins
Bad mouthed them about their slow shipping so they banned me.. :-) Like I care... SD Buillion has better prices all across the board and they don't rape you for shipping. I'd never do business with Gainesville again if they were the ONLY dealer on earth. Just a very bad experience with them, in spite of buying $50K plus in product. Means nothing to them. Screw 'em.
Worst experience yet
I have bought quite a bit of Silver ounce coins over the last five years. My recent purchase at Gainesville coins is by far the worst yet. I ordered 17 ounces two weeks before christmas as presents. I figured two weeks would be long enough time to ship them out. I also assumed I was buying in stock coins. After a week they called me up with my credit card company on the line wanting to verify identity. I have never had that happen before. After two weeks they called me and said that a silver die from one of the coin manufacturers was broke and they couldn't send me some of my coins. I told them just send me three other coins. Now the coins will show up 2 days after Christmas hopefully. I ordered some coins from Provident Mint and they were delivered in less than a week. I would recommend shopping anywhere else.
BAD BAD BAD Stay Away
After waiting 11 days and being charged 5 days into the order they called and wanted a photo copy of drivers license and a photo copy of the credit card. Then they had a "restocking" fee for something they didn't send.
I have bought online before and NEVER have had to give a birthday and driver license #.
Sounds more Like an attempt at identity theft.
And they got 5% for NOTHING!
Slow Processing, Slow Shipping and high shipping cost
I will never ever buy from Gainsvillecoins.com again.....it took over 3 weeks for 1 coin to show up and $30.66 for UPS Ground Shipping, they also way over priced...now i will order from eBay with Apmex they are awesome, free shipping and super low prices, they ship within 2-3 days.
Always the lowest prices last 10 years running
If u are looking for the best price everyone knows go to Gainesville
Coins Shipped Late, but Still Fine
I made my silver purchase on new year's eve from Gainesville coins. The estimated ship date for my order was January 9th, so I waited. I waited for over a week past the 9th and my order had still not shipped. A lot of dealers were back ordered at the time, so I wasn't too concerned that it was taking longer than expected. However, I emailed customer service on the 18th to check on my order and it turns out they didn't have the coins in their vault. They said they would order them, get them the next day, and ship them to me when they got them with overnight shipping for free. The extra wait didn't really bother me, so I replied and told them they didn't have to upgrade my shipping and instead they could give me free shipping on my next order (they save money, I save money, and they get my business again) or that a free ounce would be nice. I never got a response to that email. Also, I didn't get my package on it's first delivery because it was delivered via UPS and not USPS like it was originally and had to wait until Monday to catch the second delivery, so the overnight shipping was a waste anyways. When I finally got my package, everything was in great condition and they even threw in a 1oz Guy Harvey Blue Marlin proof coin ($40+ on their website, but I doubt many people would buy it for anywhere near that). All in all, I got a free ounce and had to wait about three weeks to get my order, which really doesn't matter much to me. I would shop at Gainesville again (if they had a coin I want at the lowest price, which is why I went there in the first place. Their half ounce perth goats were the cheapest out of anyone else even when paying with a credit card). I hope more of my orders get messed up in the future if it gets me free silver.
I haven't heard too many good things about Gainesville Coins before, but I really wanted a Trident bar, so I went ahead and purchased a 10 ozt bar. The website is easy to use and everything seems clear to understand. The main issues are the price, shipping time, and the lack of payment options. You can only pay with a CC, wire or bitcoin. No paypal. The prices a bit high, especially when you include shipping costs which are kind of high. It also takes a week or longer to ship, even if you pay by credit card.
I would still recommend them for their Trident bars, or anything else, just expect to pay more and have it take a little while to get to you.
